Is This Getting Boring?

All Ezra, all the time! I've been reminded that the posts here are few and far between. I am still having camera issues. Here's E being a boy and climbing on his stroller. He pretty much climbs on anything.

I think that I've figured out that my life is pretty boring. I'm not complaining, it just makes for a very boring blog, but a satisfying life. I LOVE my life. I LOVE my husband, LOVE my only child, LOVE my SIL, and I'm totally and completely in LOVE with my only grandchild. I think a boring life is under appreciated.
We decided to mix things up a bit and go to the Swenson's home for dinner. We usually end up on the hill at our home, but it may be that it is now much easier to go to their home. Ezra goes to bed very early so if they come up the hill, we either need to put E down early, or they leave early, or E gets not so cute....tough choices.
Here's our one and only grandchild, looking cuter than ever. He was having a little trouble seeing, so I decided to flip up the bill on the hat so he could see....still very cuteHere's E taking a little break to re-hydrate with his beautiful mother Okay, I admit it....he is the cutest little guy that I've even seen! Being the mom of a girl, and being a G-Ma of a boy is totally and completely different. He climbs on anything and everything. I'm not bragging and I'm not complaining....it just is. And Dave is LOVING this. So much in fact that he took control for almost three hours while we went out and had Mani/Pedi's and a trip to Jo-Ann's. Just waiting for Tuesday when we find out if #2 is another fabulous boy or a fantastic girl...stay tuned!

Spicy Pulled Pork

One of my favorite foods is pulled pork...well, just about any slow cooked meat is really tasty. I realized that I had never made pulled pork, so now was a good time to fix that. I searched around, looked at some of my books, but then went with the Pioneer Woman recipe...well, sort of. Her recipe called for a can of Chipolte peppers in a size that Raley's didn't carry....so I did the math and grabbed two cans of what I was certain would be my new favorite ingredient. I mean we like spicy. And if two cans was good, well then three cans would be even better, right?

This is what's left when you take the meat out to shred it. This is the juice that's left.
This is shredded pork....it's so soft after cooking all day that when you take two forks and pull it apart, this is what it looks like.....shredded.
I can tell you that three cans is WAY too many. Even Dave was having trouble with it. I can also say that our sinuses are totally and completely clear!

Another Sign He's a Boy

Sunday night, after a wild weekend, Ezra was just finishing a bath and being toweled on a tile floor........you can guess that a wet, tired, wriggling little boy is not a good combo and you would be right.....he fell on his face, on that tiled floor, and shattered one of his front teeth. His mother was beside herself, father swooped in to calm things down, the lad was put to bed....then the doctor was called. On Monday, a friend who happens to be an orthodontist was called, referrals were made, offices were closed, then a trip to a nearby city with a pediatric dentistry group was visited.

Ezra was pretty good as the dentist looked at his tooth and determined it had to be pulled, dad was great, mom was not so great (some might say post traumatic syndrome).

Ezra is his happy self, with one less tooth. He should be just fine in about 5 years when the permanent tooth grows in.
Grandpa says "he's a boy, get used to it"......grandma and mom are determining how to encase him in bubble wrap.

New Bedtime Ritual

When Ezra's parents dropped him off, we were instructed that we now needed to brush before he was put to bed, and then in the morning. Being the obedient grandparents, we graciously complied. First we brushed his teeth, then we let him do it on his own.

But then there was the unfortunate incident with his front tooth.....for another time.

Overindulgent?

We really haven't purchased too many toys for Ezra. In fact, we maybe have spent $20 so far....if you don't count books....because I really go all out when it comes to books. So here is the latest toy for Ezra.....a box!

And I'm sure his mom is going crazy with the photos because he has a Binky in his mouth. But when he comes to grandma's, he gets pretty much whatever he wants, and he wanted his Binky, so he got it. We did purchase two packs of Binky's and play games with them....does that make it okay? He's happy, so we're happy......but I may remove the Binky before I take photos that I'll be posting.....so I won't hear the screaming from across town where his mother lives :)

Our Garbage Man

My sweet little grandbaby has this thing about my garbage can! He puts things in it. He's figured out that if he tilts it, whatever he just put in it will fall enough for him to reach it....isn't he smart?! But mostly he walks all over the house pushing the thing around.....and talking to himself. A possible career? Maybe one of those governmental union workers?

Isn't My Grandson Cute?

Jessica is becoming quite the crafting genius. We went to Super JoAnn's in Newark, the crafters' mecca. She selected this fabric and said she was making a cushion. I had no idea this is what she was making. She just got a sewing machine a few months ago and watches videos on the internet and then makes stuff....can you believe it?!

And I still can't figure out how Ezra just keeps getting cuter and cuter.....how much cuter do you think he can get?
