The Dingle Peninsula is a little like driving Highway 1 north of Stinson Beach....but wetter! And Edie had to Google "dingleberry" because the others would not tell her what it meant.
It was not rainy but a bit windy! We laughed that the Irish needed a sign with instructions on what to do if the sun shines! Can you tell that Sabrina's hair is blowing straight back?
Beautiful Coast
Cute dog...and really smart too! We watched two guys try to get their sheep out of the trailer and in to a field. Not too successful until they gave verbal commands to the dogs and they herded them in to the proper direction. The guys grabbed the sheep by their horns and helped to direct them in to the proper field. We didn't have time to take photos because it happened really fast. The "upside down bridge", it has never had a real bridge over this road and it is really a ford.
This marks the western most point of Europe.
Our favorite pub, Murphy's
Tomorrow we leave for Dublin, where there's a huge rugby match being played, so this should be interesting. The drive should take about 4 hours and there really isn't a great place to stop but we're sure we'll find something. We had talked about going via the Waterford Crystal factory but thanks to Andy we found out it is closed. It seems that Americans are no longer purchasing this style of crystal and the unions didn't give any concessions, so it shut down.
Right now we're going back to the earlier posts to respond to all the great comments from our friends and family.

Alright, we made it safely to OC within 6 hrs & in enough time for me to stop by Kirsten's baby shower. Baby Charis is absolutely adorable, although she cried when I held her. I'm worried that I'm not a natural since she was NOT crying when W was holding her just moments before I stole her away. Sheesh! Um, we're crashing at W & C until Monday then staying with M & R & the kids. And Josiah is the cutest as can be!! He has a very strong boyish charm about him. Makes anyone's heart melt, even when he proclaims "I disobeyed!" after getting disciplined. So cute!! Ireland sounds wonderfully delightful with its weather. I've suddenly found my internal furnace & now like it colder than W. Wow! That's saying alot!!
good morning travelers!
Inez and Marissa arrived yesterday morning from LA. We spent a quiet day in the perfectly moderate temps right here in the backyard.
i LOVED the pic of Sabrina by the Sunshine sign! That is just hillarious........I have never seen anything like it. Very cute.
The Burdicks are coming over this morning for BRUNCH. Inez is anxious to see everyone and meet the new baby too. AND of course FoOD...We all love food.
No other news here.
Keep on Bloggin!
Got a note from Carrie and Steve this morning. They are in Moorea and have had a wonderful time and enjoying all the Scuba but carrie said that it is VERY VERY expensive to buy food there so she and steve have really been tryig hard to keep in down. It would be wise to do an all Inclusive package to the very exotics....
bye for now!
xoxo
Hi...I'm sure you guys are anxious for some Ca sunshine! Have a safe trip to Dublin...I can just hear Mom yelling at Dad while he is driving...just like home :) remember Dad...you have driven more miles in reverse :) Have fun and I love you,
Ashley
Hidy Ho! I am so pleased to hear you are enjoying a little Guiness...I've heard the Irish refer to it as the "staff of life."
Dad..I ran 18 miles ALONE yesterday and missed you, but I'm happy to report that the Immodium AD is still working like a charm...Thanks Sabrina!
Other than that we are still in kid hell...Jack got in trouble at school again on Friday, soccer practice, karate, homework AND we're getting a Prius! Justin said, "I guess we're really parents now because our life is officially over!" That is until we become seniors like the 4 of you :) It looks as though you guys are enjoying your lives...I'm glad someone is!
Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and fat.
Well while the 4 of you are chasing rainbows and sheep, Doug and I are trying to stay ahead of the aging curve. Ran 2:12 hrs today in Sunol. Love reading your travel adventures!
