And we're off to Seville, or Sevilla. There was a bit of drama getting to the train station. We had the hotel arrange transportation to the train station. We didn't rely on just any taxi since there are four of us and we have four bags. All vehicles, including taxis, are small here in Europe. Some would think that's great (mph, greenies, and all that), but when you're trying to get somewhere, it's a pain. So our driver headed in the wrong direction and then tried to get 35 Euro out us. It didn't happen. We'd like to think the best, and we will, but it's a bit of a rip. We paid 15 Euro.
Again, no drama with the train. We're thinking this whole thing is over-hyped. Then again, we had a local telling us horror stories while we were traveling on the train. So who knows?
And I was actually able to have a bit of a conversation with the lady taxi driver. I think I'm getting over the shyness of my lack of Spanish. Since I'm the best in the group, well, I had to jump in. I'm impressing everyone. Then again, I'm pretty much the only show in town, or at least the only one in the group. Thank you for all those boring vocabulary drills. Oh, and to fit in to the taxi, Sabrina had to hold the shelf in front of her so the bags would fit in the back..she was unable to see a thing on our drive. We're pretty sure this wouldn't happen in the US.
We are so looking forward to this stop. We're thinking that we're done with the big cities and now on to the more quaint and walking tourist places. The old towns with the narrow streets and interesting shops, etc. We are so jazzed to get to our hotel, Las Casas de la Juderia.
Our room wasn't ready, so we walked around the city. Now Dave didn't eat anything on the train, and he's very quiet. He's not complaining, but just sort of blah. Our rooms are ready and we're off...in the "overflow" again. You may remember from prior adventures that somehow we always get stuck in the outer regions. We're not sure how this happens to us. Anyway, we wander through all these narrow halls, through lovely courtyards, cross through an alley, and get to our rooms....
We were mortified with the twin beds, but it turned out to be a good thing. Oh, and that bathroom....little did we know how much time we would be spending in there......
