Our First Tour In Seville

Dave lays down on the bed and basically lets us know that he's staying there.  Oh, and it is now beginning to rain.  And I don't mean a drizzle....or a shower.....it can be described as a deluge.  And the temperature has dropped too.  So now all the clothing we've saved for an even warmer temperature, yeah, that's not going to happen.

We have yet another tour, that is a bust, scheduled. We're to take a river boat tour. In the rain. So three of us get umbrellas at the desk and we're off to find the meeting place for our tour.  Fortunately we are once again booked at a hotel right smack dab in the middle of everything.  Of course we've paid a pretty penny, well, a whole lot of pretty pennies, for the location, but we find the shuttle in no time and we're off to the boat.

We see a little of Seville, what can be seen in the down pour, and the tour guide tells us a few things.  Again, this is a multi-lingual tour.  Warning....NEVER book a multi-lingual tour.  Oh, and Rick Steves' tells us that the river boat tour is a bust. He's right. If only we had researched this a bit more before we left.  Oh yeah, we only met with the travel agent a few days before departure.

So we get on the boat, with a few of our new best friends.  We are soaked from the walk from the van to the boat. And the wind is whipping up and we're getting wet sitting in the middle of the upper deck.  Of course we want to be on the top deck because the lower deck has all the windows fogged up.  All we're seeing are buildings from the 1992 World Expo, or something boring like that.
The tour guide either figured out we were painfully bored, or he didn't want to speak English (and we were the only English speaking people on the tour, the rest were Spanish). He approached us and asked if we wanted to bail from the second part of the tour, the Bull Fighting Museum.  Well, Sabrina loathes the entire idea of bull fighting and all three of us are bored out of our minds..and wet, and cold...so we all voted to get out of there.  He arranged for the van to take us back to the hotel and we were out of there immediately.

When we returned to our hotel, we now had to navigate the narrow halls, courtyards, and alley, back to our rooms.  We were like rats in a maze. Seriously. It was a joke. We later learned that they furnish you with a guide upon request. Seriously?! We were bound and determined to get to our room, on our own. It took us 20 minutes! Oh, and that alley.....water up to our ankles....so now we are totally soaked, with soggy wet shoes.

Dave is still laying down, asleep, and isn't going to join us for dinner.  The three of us change our shoes and head to dinner.  I  feel a bit chilled, but chalk it up to the complete soaking and sympathy pains for Dave. Then the food arrives and I just am not the least bit interested in eating.  I have a few bites and that's it.  We head back to our rooms, which we do a little better finding our room this time.

I shower and I can barely wait to jump in to my single bed. And I am seriously chilled....oh this sounds way too much like Dave's symptoms.  Stay tuned......
