Isn't My Grandson Cute?

Jessica is becoming quite the crafting genius. We went to Super JoAnn's in Newark, the crafters' mecca. She selected this fabric and said she was making a cushion. I had no idea this is what she was making. She just got a sewing machine a few months ago and watches videos on the internet and then makes stuff....can you believe it?!

And I still can't figure out how Ezra just keeps getting cuter and cuter.....how much cuter do you think he can get?

Quick and Fast Dinner

Jessica had this posting about her dinner, along with a recipe. Dave mentioned that it looked really good, which surprised me because he tries to limit his carb intake. I decided to go ahead and make the recipe. But as I began, I realized I didn't have half of the ingredients, so I improvised. It was delicious!

I don't want to give you a recipe because I really emptied out the frig. But this does include a pound of hamburger, can of diced jalapeno tomatoes (14 oz I think), mushrooms, 2 1/2 c of whole wheat pasta, chopped spinach (I put in an entire bag of frozen chopped spinach), chopped onion, chopped red peppers, cumin, salt, pepper, 2 cups of water. I had it on medium to low heat for about 12 minutes (until the pasta is al dente) when the lid on. Then I shut off the heat and put on a lot of grated parmesan and put on the lid again.

It tastes as great as it looks!

How Did We All Get So Old?

Can you remember when 60 was old? I think that could have been when we had a birthday party for Dave when he was 30, and I thought he was so old then....and I mean that in a good way. Just a few people....Miss Deborah, Pablo, and Terry (she's the only one we haven't heard from in years).

Here's the cupcake cake I bought at Raley's...chocolate & fudge frosting in honor of Dave....he loves chocolate. He even had a cupcake and two scoops of ice cream...his carbs for an entire week!
See how clever this is? You don't need to be concerned with cutting the cake, making it a "small" piece for those dieters among us.
Dave received this flower arrangement from a client...they LOVE him.

Dave with some of the revelers....please forgive the poor poses...it's tough to get many people all looking their best...plus I'm still having camera issues...or could it be operator error? Nah!

Those calla lilies came from Berta's yard, don't they look great? And I snagged that cool "vase" with them...yeah for me.
I don't think Pete & Teresa take a bad photo.....but where's George?
And the grandma's had some fun too...

He is Just so Darn Cute

Ezra loves the backyard. He is fearless, well he can be because we're all full of fear when he breaks out and starts climbing and crawling. It is really tough to act so cool so he doesn't get all freaked out....fat chance of that....we all see everything that can hurt him and he's totally without fear.
Daddy helps Ezra walk down the stairs....Ezra thinks he can just fly down the stairs, but we all know otherwise.

Ezra's mom dresses him funny....even Ezra can't sport the skinny jeans.....we're not a big fan.

Britax Stroller Has Arrived!

One of the things we LOVE to do with Ezra is go for a walk. Well, we even go for walks without Ezra, so maybe we just LOVE to walk. We have Ezra a couple few times of week, when we're lucky, and Jessica is tutoring. Since we really can't work when he's around, we like to go for a walk around the neighborhood. He has his own stroller, a Phil+Ted stroller, that is totally awesome. But I am totally unable to open or close the darn thing. They've shown me many times, but I just can't seem to get it. Plus the wheel was flat (this thing has awesome air filled tires) for awhile, and sometimes Jessica forgets to bring it up (probably because the thing barely fits in her trunk).

So after consulting with friends and family we decided to get an umbrella stroller. It's easy to open and close, doesn't take up much room, and is really open while the little guy is riding in it. We visited Babies R Us, which is an experience in and of itself. Have you been there? It is huge. We were told that the one in Dublin is not one of the "upscale" ones. I wonder what that's all about?

We were narrowing in on the Britax when the rep was there and she was really helpful. We then did a bit of research on the internet, went back to Babies R Us (Dave was in shopping hell by now), and finally purchased on the internet.

We missed out on a couple of freebies from friends who had just given away their umbrella strollers, so we decided to pull the trigger and buy the B Nimble Britax. We LOVE it, and Ezra seems to enjoy it too.

Baking with Ezra

Dave was having a guest over for coffee and let me know that it was a good idea to have something to eat with the coffee. So I went in to the pantry stash and whipped up some brownies. Then I tried to remember if Ezra had licked the mixer beater yet...but now he has!

And then I quickly cleaned him up before he touched anything! That was a real trick. I can't remember ever moving that fast before!
