We have this huge oak tree in the back of the house. Dave had a fort in the tree when he was a young boy, and we have so many family photos in front of this tree over many decades. When we moved in to this house, I wanted to take a family photo with the tree in the background every year. We missed the first year, and then our Christmas photos seemed like the perfect family tradition.
This isn't as easy as it sounds. We have to get my sister (our photographer) and all of us together at the same time. Now that we have two little guys, it is even tougher. We have to work around their nap schedules and then try to keep them clean and smiling. This year may be a bust because after 100+ photos, there is not a single one that I love.
After the photos, we have dinner and then Auntie Rhonda gets to love on the little guys.
